Prepare for a move

A.
Notify the telephone company to disconect your phone one day later than your moving day. This way you will have use of the phone and movers will be able to contact you.

B. Plance anything YOU will be taking into a closet or a seperate box and put a "do not move" sticker on it. (IE., suitcase, clothes, car keys, etc.) Mark articles in home e.g. airplane tickets, travellers cheques etc. which will not be loading with a "do not load" sticker.

C. You may leave articles in your dresser drawer but put items such as earrings, pins, etc. into a plastic zip loack bag so they don't fall out.

D. When the driver arrives he will be placing a numbered tag on every box and piece of furniture. By doing so, he is marking down the articles we are removing from your home and what condition they are in. You will be asked to read this inventory, sign it and keep a copy with which you can check off all your belongings at destination.

E. Make sure you check the home completely(closets, drawers, hiding places) after the men have loaded to ensure nothing is left behind. Also, give the driver at least (2) phone numbers where you may be reached at destination and your estimated time of arrival.

F. Pack 1 box yourself and mark it with a large X. Ask the driver to load it last so it will be the first item off the moving van. In this box you should keep a local telephone book, all your washroom needs, 2 cups with coffee and kettle. Also, if you have any small children include a toy or game for them. This way you will have all your washroom needs immediately at destination and can make a cup of coffee and let our experts do the rest.
